Slide 1

Very realistic and fast-paced, with phones ringing, news media arriving, and councilors showing up—it all felt very real.

The control simulation team is excellent. I always find the training days challenging, as such a day would be in real life. These exercises are extremely helpful for being prepared.

Slide 3

The design, simulation, and control team did a great job organizing and managing the Water Services emergency exercise. It was realistic and fast-paced, with new inputs throughout, making it feel like a real event—very valuable for all the participants and observers.

Slide 5

These types of practice/training sessions are absolutely the best way to learn, and I so appreciated the opportunity to learn and grow. It was exciting giving staff the opportunity to step into new roles, building capacity and confidence in a safe, supportive environment. And the staff-to-staff coaching was fabulous.

The reality of the simulation was exceptional. Of course we were all aware that it was not "real" but the set up of the day was effective at being engaging and realistic.

The training design was a really good fit for our community. Having a customized exercise that actually brought in elements unique to our region was really valuable, and the live direct feedback from trainers and observers was so impactful. I was extremely nervous heading into this training, but by the end of it I felt a really strong sense of how our EOC operates.

The training exercise was incredibly valuable. Having a background from course work helps a lot, but there is nothing that can replace the hands-on work of an exercise. The exercise felt completely real and I was thrilled to see everyone on the team treating the exercise as a real and serious event.

GetSet Solutions is committed to global disaster risk reduction and the principles of the Sedai Framework. In addition to the services we provide that align with these strategies, we support the International Disaster Response Network (IDRN) as a member and in an advisory capacity. The Steven Bibby Memorial Award

We regularly support nonprofits and charities in public safety and other fields, but one effort is especially close to our  hearts. In 2020, we contributed to establish an award to honour our late friend and valued colleague, Steven Bibby. Steven was a champion of public safety, a key innovator in post-disaster building assessment, and a genuinely fine human being. The award supports Indigenous or under-funded students wishing to advance their public safety education to support their community. The Steven Bibby Memorial Award is funded through the JIBC Foundation.
